Albert Fish, part of my serial killer portraits series. The series is here [link]

|| done in pencil, & colored pencil

Albert Hamilton Fish (May 19, 1870 January 16, 1936) was an American sado-masochistic pedophile, torture murderer, serial killer and cannibal. He was also known as the Gray Man, the Werewolf of Wysteria, the Brooklyn Vampire, and The Boogeyman.[1] He boasted that he had "had children in every state,"[1] putting the figure at around 100, although it is not clear whether he was talking about molestation or cannibalization, less still as to whether it was true or not. He was a suspect in at least five killings in his lifetime. Fish confessed to three murders that police were able to trace to a known homicide, and confessed to stabbing at least two other people. He was put on trial for the kidnap and murder of Grace Budd, and was convicted and executed via electric chair. wiki page on fish is located here [link]

Really amazing job! The visual depth and range of shadows is stunning, detail is superb, color is just right -- this is really a completely brilliant work, and done only in pencils?!? :bows:

Don't really know why anyone would want to draw a picture of a serial killer, but hey. Still a really good pic.

The appearance of texture? Just going over and over it, I began with a rough pencil sketch, then went over it with red colored pencils, and then back over with regular pencil. Going into/over the layer of red is where I focused on "pulling out" the image to give it real depth. I've been doing art for over 40 years, so all I can really tell you is: I'm not lying  and just keep doing your thing. :) Thanks for commenting.

its just that the ammount of detail is just astonishing...im used to seeing lazy artists who would have used stock texture and photoshoped it in. or some would have just coloured in the backround plain red and ignored the red detail in albert fish's face. it is good to see how much effort you put into your works.

I love bold work like this, possible because my own is so understated... The expression is really eerie as well, which I'm sure was intended, seeing as how this is a serial killer. I'm favorite-ing!
